t her salon, she was welcoming and kind. Throughout the session, she really took her time ensuring she would capture look I wanted for our wedding. After the reveal, I loved what she did! My trial was early that morning and my hair and makeup lasted the entire day. I was excited and looked forward to having Heidi and her team on our wedding day.
On the day of our wedding, Heidi and her team of 3 arrived and were all 1 hour and 30 minutes late. Upon arrival, they were a bit rude, walking throughout the hotel room trying to figure out where to set up shop, not even saying a proper hello to me and my bridal party. They did not give me a reason for being so late.
Our photographers, who came on time, were already taking photos in the room. They forced them to move and ended up taking photographs in a different room without discussing on how to work together as a team. Me and my bridal party already had music playing in the room, and they turned it off and put their own music without our consent.
However, the biggest thing that offended me was that they brought an infant which took one of the stylists away from doing her job. The girls in my bridal party were kind enough to help watch the infant, which they didn't have to do at all. A member of Heidi's team was extremely rude, giving me stink looks throughout the day. Another member of the team seemed like she was still a stylist in training, and was corrected many times by Heidi. I was extremely shocked with their unprofessionalism. Because Heidi and her team arrived so late, our wedding ceremony and reception was pushed back 1 whole hour! In my mind, I was so frantically worried while I was getting my hair and makeup done that my groom though I may have stood him up and left him waiting at the altar. I had to call my wedding planner down stairs to assure my groom to not worry and that we are running behind. My husband and I didn't have enough time to take the photos we wanted together, I didn't have enough time to be photographed with my friends and family after the ceremony, and also, we didn't have time to dance at the end of our reception.
My hair and makeup was done last, after my bridal party. By the time it was my turn, we were already running late for the ceremony. I felt like there should have been more time spent on me. I was extremely worried the whole time, but felt that I had keep calm and collected before the ceremony.
Despite the rush, I thought Heidi did a great job still making me look glamorous for our wedding day. They did a great job with my bridal party as well. For that, I am extremely thankful to Heidi and her team. However, I just want Breathe Hawaii and everyone know who are considering them to really consider my comments about my experiences with them. The timeline for my wedding was pushed back so much to an irreparable state, and because of Heidi's team's decision to come 1 and a half hours late, it just started a domino effect that essentially destroyed the timeline for my wedding.

booked her very late, just a few days before my destination wedding to Oahu, because my school and work schedule were so hectic I completely forgot about makeup for myself and my bridal party. We never even had time to do a trial run but she and Leilani got our look perfect on the first try, the day of, using just photos we sent for ideas. She absolutely understood the soft, romantic, but smoky look I was hoping for and everyone looked gorgeous!!!! We also had a great time singing and dancing while getting ready and Heidi and Leilani felt like family the whole time. As for logistics, Heidi and Leilani showed up on time, had a vast array of products, were incredibly organized and efficient. Even though my hair took longer than expected, Heidi was able to have everyone done and out the door on schedule. Our makeup stayed on all night despite our best efforts to sweat it off while dancing, but never felt heavy or gross. Even more special to me is how she went above and beyond. My photographer was running late ( her Uber took her to the wrong hotel) and Heidi was kind enough to take a few "getting ready" photos and photos of me writing a little note to my hubby without being asked. That really meant a lot to me! I would highly recommend Heidi and Breathe Hawaii for any bride who wants an easy, fun experience AND wants to walk down the aisle confident, feeling and looking like a goddess!

usive rates (with my wedding coordinator) and I was pleased with their work online. Heidi and I only communicated via email. She doesn't respond quick, sometimes I won't hear back from her for over a week. And sometimes, I would have to follow up with her. This is why I docked off a star due to lack of response.
However, her work speaks for itself. Heidi and her team did a great job on our hair and makeup. She brought in a team to help her. She concentrated mostly on me because I was the bride. She was nice and kept me calm. Her entire team was nice too and friendly.
I showed Heidi sample pictures of how I wanted our hair to look. They did a great job on incorporating the fresh flowers into our hair. The makeup seemed alot at first but throughout the day it started to look more natural. Our hair and makeup stayed in tact the entire day and night even with the heat and humidity at Kualoa Ranch.
I highly recommend Breathe Hawaii eventhough they need to improve on their response time. However, the day of wedding...they will not disappoint! They will deliver service and make sure you are looking beautiful! Mahalo Heidi!

n where I was having the wedding and also let me know the beach I was getting married on was extremely windy. We agreed on a meeting time at my hotel (for a fee, well worth it), She even offered to help me get dressed, which is great for a destination wedding if you do not have anyone with you to help! She also made sure I was okay with her bringing an assistant to work on my hair while she did my make-up.
The morning of the wedding, Heidi text me when she was on her way and arrived on time. Both her and her assistant were very sweet and professional. They instantly made me feel comfortable and were so personable. Heidi kept in mind that we were having an intimate beach wedding and did my hair and makeup to match, not overdone and very romantic. The eyelashes are a must and she has different types for you to choose from. My sister/mom were in the room with us; we talked and laughed the entire time, we felt like we knew her for so long. Waimanalo Beach Bay was definitely very windy and my hair held up. My make-up was flawless and felt very light, lasted for the entire day. I was extremely happy with the outcome, as was my new husband.

I went in for my trial appointment and immediately felt comfortable with Heidi. She is sweet, kind and very professional. Heidi from day one was very accommodating and went above and beyond her duty to make life simple in my preparations with hair and makeup. Not only did she do hair and make-up. She also arranged a spa day: massage, pedicure, manicure and facial. It was the most relaxing day of week before the big day and I had so much fun with my girls. We had some quality time and a day I will always cherish. It will be a while before a day like this will happen again because they all flew in from Illinois, New York, California and Guam so it was extra special.

PAST EXPERIENCE WITH OTHERS- It all started with...
a hair and makeup trial!- I had gone to one of the "premiere" (or what I thought was "premiere" makeup artists in Hawaii that is one of the vendors for The Wedding Cafe (whose company name will not be mentioned). I was definitely not happy... I was oily, had a makeup line on my forehead, lipstick on my teeth, by the end of the day my makeup ran down my face, and my hair was a total mess...ON top of it all, the artist seemed as if they did not care.... I mean let's face it- IT IS MY WEDDING!! DON'T YOU KNOW THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW???? :)
THE TRIAL- The trial was scary at first because of MY LAST EXPERIENCE. But Heidi and Nevette were so AWESOME! Friendly, kind, caring, asked me about my special day because THEY CARED! ANDDD of course.... My goodness.. Their work is flawless.. Every product of makeup had a purpose, every color was thought out, every bobby pin placed in its special place. They included me in all the decisions of the trial and final look... It made me feel like I could put together this perfect vision... It definitely encouraged me to find the perfect look I WANTED! :) (i never thanked them for inspiring me to do research on my look..)
THE BIG DAY- Heidi and Nevette were the two main artists of the day.. Arrived early, started fast, worked slowly and carefully... They know the importance of the BIG DAY and took their time to make all 7 bridesmaids, 1 coordinator, 2 mothers and 1 bride look beautiful.
Again, every hair product, eye shadow color, bobby pin, carefully thought out...
Let me tell you how beautiful myself, bridesmaids, mother and coordinator looked... Drop dead... All to Breathe. :) They made me feel so conformable (like family) that at the end of the night at mid-night when we got back from the day, I sent them a picture of my hair and makeup to thank them... And show them how awesome I still looked :) not oily, not running, & hair still in tact... Beautiful hair.... Beautiful makeup... Flawless.. Made all of us feel like super stars for the day :) It's because of vendors like BREATHE, I wish I could get married every weekend!
MONEY CAN'T BUY- Money can't buy your the overall experience of BREATHE. Having women of faith around me when my mother was in the ER the night before sick, the morning was full of thunder storms, and it seemed like the day was ruined- meant so much to me. The moments leading up to the ceremony was chaotic- only a bride would know what those minutes leading up to the ceremony is like. I was on the verge of what could only be called a panic attack when the artists calmed me down, and talked to me... Giving me the peace and calmness, which not even my closet friends and family could give me at the moment. Money can't buy the experience, the feelings of friendship, faith, and honesty that the artists of Breathe have.
